AS Nancy-Lorraine: Three Key Players Face Disciplinary Suspensions
AS Nancy-Lorraine faces significant player suspensions from the disciplinary committee, impacting Suljic, Bouriaud, and Jimmy. Learn how these sanctions will affect the club.
The LFP disciplinary committee announced its decisions this Wednesday, impacting several French clubs, including AS Nancy-Lorraine. The Lorraine club will have to cope with the absence of three of its key players: Cazim Suljic, Teddy Bouriaud, and Evans Jimmy, all sanctioned with a firm one-match suspension. These decisions follow a series of incidents and accumulations of yellow cards across the leagues.
For AS Nancy-Lorraine, Cazim Suljic received a firm one-match suspension. His teammates, Teddy Bouriaud and Evans Jimmy, were also suspended for one firm match each, following the accumulation of a fifth warning in Ligue 2 BKT, Coupe de France, or Trophée des Champions. These sanctions will take effect from Tuesday, May 5, 2026, forcing the club to reorganize its squad for upcoming fixtures.
Beyond Nancy, other Ligue 2 BKT players were heavily sanctioned. Allan Ackra (Clermont Foot 63) received a three-match firm suspension, while Demba Thiam (US Boulogne CO) was suspended for two matches. Mehdi Merghem (SC Bastia) is also among the players receiving a firm one-match ban, highlighting the committee's strictness.
In Ligue 1 McDonald’s, more high-profile names were also affected. Gonçalo Ramos (Paris Saint-Germain) was suspended for one firm match and one suspended match after his expulsion. Pierre Lees-Melou (Paris FC) received a firm one-match suspension. Other players like Kenny Lala (Stade Brestois 29) and Mamadou Sangare (RC Lens) were also sanctioned with a firm one-match ban following a fifth warning.
The committee also addressed pitch incidents. The Amiens SC – Montpellier Hérault SC match on April 24, 2026, was marked by the use and throwing of pyrotechnic devices by Amiens supporters, leading to a temporary interruption. Consequently, the Stade de la Licorne will be subject to a full behind-closed-doors match and the North stand will be closed for one match, effective immediately for the May 2 fixture against Red Star.
These disciplinary decisions, covering player suspensions and stadium sanctions, underscore the importance of respecting the rules of the game and supporter conduct. For AS Nancy-Lorraine, the absence of Suljic, Bouriaud, and Jimmy represents a definite tactical challenge for the upcoming matches, requiring rapid team adaptation.
